Privacy Policy & Terms
How we handle your information, and the terms that govern your use of this website.
Last updated: October 28, 2026
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information ByteNana ("ByteNana", "we", "us", or "our") collects when you visit bytenana.com, hire.bytenana.com and their pages (the "site"), or when you contact us. It also explains how we use that information and the choices you have. Some sections apply only where you live, and they say so.
In short: we use analytics, advertising measurement and visitor identification. In the EEA, UK, Brazil and Québec, they run only if you agree in our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time. Everywhere else they run by default, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we are
The site is operated by Bytenana LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA. Where data protection laws such as the GDPR or Brazil's LGPD apply, this company is the "controller" of your personal data. You can reach us about privacy at contact@bytenana.tech.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you use our booking or contact form, we collect your name, work email and, where asked, a short description of your project. We use it to reply and to schedule the call you request. If you arrived through one of our ads or campaign links, the form also records that campaign's name (taken from the link's address, not from a cookie), so we know which campaigns bring enquiries.
- Technical information. When you visit, your browser sends technical data to us and to our hosting provider. This includes your IP address, browser and device type, the page you request, the page that referred you, and your approximate country, derived from your IP address. We use your country only to decide which of the tools below run, and we do not store it.
- Visitor identification. Described in the next section.
- Analytics and advertising measurement (hire.bytenana.com). We use Google Analytics to understand how pages perform, and Google Ads conversion tracking to measure whether our ads lead to enquiries. On the page shown after you book, we also use an interaction analytics service, which records how visitors interact with the page (such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement) so we can improve it.
The site is intended for business visitors and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
Website visitor identification
We use website visitor identification services to learn which businesses are interested in our services so we can follow up with relevant B2B outreach. Their scripts store identifiers in your browser (cookies and local storage) and read technical information from your browser, such as your IP address, device and browser details, and the pages you view. For visitors in the United States, these services and their online data partners may use cookies and similar technologies to link your activity on this site to personal information they hold about you. This can include your company, name, professional email address, job title, employer and public professional profile (such as LinkedIn). The services share this information with us. As a result, you may receive marketing communications from us. You can opt out at any time (see Your choices).
Outside the United States, these services generally identify only the company associated with your network connection (such as its name, website, industry and size), not you personally. In the EEA, UK, Brazil and Québec, they run only if you accept "Marketing" in our cookie banner.
To opt out with our visitor identification providers and their data partners on every site that uses them, not just ours, use the provider opt-out page, or email us at contact@bytenana.tech and we will pass a suppression request to each provider.
How we use your information, and our legal bases
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR or Brazil's LGPD applies to you, we rely on the legal bases shown below.
| Purpose | Legal basis (EEA / UK / Brazil) |
|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry and scheduling the call you request | Steps you asked for before a possible contract; our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries |
| Running, securing and protecting the site and forms (including spam and bot protection) | Legitimate interest in a secure, working site |
| Analytics, advertising measurement and visitor identification | Your consent, given in our cookie banner. You can withdraw it at any time. |
| Following up with you after you contact us | Our legitimate interest in B2B marketing. You can object at any time, and we stop. |
| Complying with law and defending legal claims | Legal obligation; legitimate interest |
We do not sell your personal information for money. However, our use of visitor identification may count as a "sale" of personal information, or as "sharing" it for advertising, under some US state privacy laws. You can opt out of it as described below. We do not use your information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Sharing and third parties
We share personal information only with the following, and only as needed for the purposes above:
- Netlify, our hosting and form-handling provider. It serves the site and processes form submissions on our behalf.
- Our website visitor identification providers and their data partners, as described above.
- Google: Google Analytics and Google Ads (hire.bytenana.com), and reCAPTCHA (spam protection, loaded only when you open our booking form).
- Our interaction analytics provider, for our booking confirmation page (hire.bytenana.com).
- Google Workspace (Gmail and Google Calendar), used to reply to you, schedule calls and keep a record of our business conversations.
- Our team, including engineers and staff who work for us from Brazil, under confidentiality obligations.
- Authorities or other parties, where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or in connection with a merger or acquisition.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. The table below lists the ones this site uses. In the EEA, UK, Brazil and Québec, only the strictly necessary ones are set until you make a choice in our cookie banner. Everywhere else, all of them are used by default, and you can opt out (see Your choices).
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Category | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_GRECAPTCHA | Google (reCAPTCHA) | Protects our booking form from spam and bots. Loaded only when you open the form. | Strictly necessary | 6 months |
bn_consent | ByteNana | Remembers your cookie banner choices (the EEA, UK, Brazil and Québec) | Strictly necessary | 6 months |
bn_optout, knock2_optout | ByteNana | Remember that you opted out of visitor identification, for us and our provider | Strictly necessary | 1 year |
| Visitor identification identifiers: cookies and local storage (names set by the providers) | Visitor identification providers | Recognise returning visitors, store the referring page and session, and support visitor identification | Marketing | From 30 minutes to about 13 months, or until you clear your browser storage |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors and sessions for aggregated statistics (hire.bytenana.com) | Analytics | 2 years |
| Interaction analytics cookies (names set by the provider) | Interaction analytics provider | Distinguishes visitors and sessions for interaction analytics on the booking confirmation page (hire.bytenana.com) | Analytics | Up to 13 months |
_gcl_au | Google Ads | Measures whether an ad click led to an enquiry (hire.bytenana.com) | Marketing | 90 days |
Your browser settings also let you block or delete cookies, though some site features may then stop working.
Your choices
- In the EEA, UK, Brazil and Québec: nothing beyond strictly necessary cookies runs until you choose in our cookie banner: Accept all, Reject all, or per purpose (Analytics, Marketing). Change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
- Everywhere else: use "Your Privacy Choices" at the bottom of every page to stop visitor identification and advertising cookies in your browser.
- Everywhere: to opt out with our visitor identification providers' networks, not just our site, use the provider opt-out page, or email us at contact@bytenana.tech and we will pass a suppression request to each provider. We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: if your browser sends it, visitor identification does not run, and we tell Google not to use your visit for ad personalisation.
- Marketing emails: every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also email us to stop all outreach.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our team works from Brazil. Our service providers process data in the United States and other countries. If you contact us from outside these countries, your details are transferred to them so we can respond to you. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum), the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where a provider is certified, or the mechanisms recognised under the LGPD. You can contact us for a copy of the relevant safeguards.
Retention
- Booking and enquiry details: 24 months after our last contact. If you become a client, we keep them as long as our contract records require.
- Visitor identification records with our providers and in Google Workspace: 12 months.
- Google Analytics data: 14 months.
- Cookies: as listed in the cookie table.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights:
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, objection (including an absolute right to object to direct marketing), and the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
- Brazil (LGPD): confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymisation, blocking or deletion, portability, information about sharing, and withdrawal of consent. You may also petition the ANPD.
- US states with privacy laws (such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and others): to know or access, correct and delete your personal information, and to opt out of its "sale", "sharing" or use for targeted advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. An authorised agent may act for you.
To exercise a right, email contact@bytenana.tech. We may need to verify your identity. We reply within the period the law sets, which is generally one month in the EEA and UK, and 45 days under US state laws. If we decline a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision. You can also opt out or withdraw consent directly on the site, as described above.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access limited to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We will update the "Last updated" date when this policy changes. If we add new purposes or providers, visitors in the EEA, UK, Brazil and Québec will be asked for their choice again.
